Youth Programs

  • Youth Chamber Music — fall Semester

MIC offers a comprehensive chamber music program for both youth and adults. The chamber music program is open to all instruments and offers a wonderful way to explore the repertoire, build ensemble performance skills, and make new friends. Students are placed into groups based on age and level. Performance opportunities, competition preparation, and master classes are provided throughout the year. String students should be at least eight years old and perform at Suzuki Book Four level or higher. All students should consult their teachers to determine whether or not chamber music is an appropriate choice.

New this fall, MIC is offering jazz combos.  Students of all ages interested in learning more about improvising, playing jazz standards, and performing original compositions are encouraged to contact their Campus Director for more information.  Students should be familiar with basic jazz theory, have had two year of private instruction on their primary instrument, and be able to read music.
