Photography & Video

The Music Institute of Chicago regularly photographs and records video at classes, lessons, concerts, recitals, camps, special events, galas, and other Institute activities. These photographs and recordings may include students, families, audience members, faculty, staff, board members, donors, volunteers, and guests.

Images and recordings may be used by the Music Institute of Chicago for educational, promotional, fundraising, and archival purposes, including on our website, social media channels, email communications, printed publications, advertising, annual reports, and other marketing materials.

By participating in Music Institute of Chicago programs or attending our events, you acknowledge that photographs or video recordings may be taken and used as described above.

Individuals who prefer not to be photographed or recorded should notify a Music Institute of Chicago staff member before or during the event. While we will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests, we cannot guarantee that individuals will not appear incidentally in crowd or audience images.

We take care to use photographs of children in a respectful and appropriate manner and generally avoid publishing full names together with photographs of minors unless we have obtained additional permission or there is a compelling educational or recognition purpose.

The email address you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates about your order, as well as occasional company news, related product or service information, including:

  • newsletters
  • class announcements
  • performance information
  • fundraising appeals
  • marketing emails

You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email.

SMS Communications

If you choose to provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive text messages from the Music Institute of Chicago, we may send you information about classes, events, performances, enrollment, fundraising opportunities, and other organizational updates.

Donations

When you make a donation, we collect the information necessary to process your contribution, issue tax acknowledgments, maintain donor records, and communicate with you about your gift and its impact.

Payment information is processed securely by our third-party payment processors. The Music Institute of Chicago does not store complete credit card numbers on its own servers.

We do not sell or rent donor information to third parties.

Yes. We use Google Analytics to measure the overall metrics of our website traffic. 

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
