Master of Music in Musical Theatre Voice Pedagogy, Carthage College
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Performance, Western Michigan University
Teaching philosophy
My specialty is musical theatre singing! My core beliefs as a teacher:
1. Complete vocal freedom can be achieved only when also authentically telling a story in song.
2. Voice/Body health is the foundation for healthy singing and cannot be overlooked.
3. Voice teachers should be evolving with their students (following trends on Broadway for musical theatre etc.) and giving them a functional approach to their voice training so that they can be as versatile as possible while maintaining healthy vocal technique. My goal is to make students sing with ease and efficiency.
4. Voice students must PRACTICE to see the best results.

Hobbies/interests outside of music:
I am also a fitness instructor and currently teach water aerobics! I love learning all of the ways we can move our body and how it benefits us. I also find that this interest helps me as a performer, and voice teacher, tremendously.
