Basic Teaching Philosophy or Special Music Interests/Specialties

Teaching philosophy
In the world of piano performance, where the keys unlock the language of emotion and creativity, a teacher’s role transcends mere instruction. It becomes a journey of discovery, an exploration of individuality, and a pursuit of artistic excellence. I believe that the responsibility of educators goes far beyond guiding students along a predefined path. Instead, it is our privilege to uncover and nurture the unique qualities, charisma, and artistic potential within each student.

In my experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, I view the teacher’s role as helping students craft their own musical language, discover the beauty of art by broadening their perspectives, and foster a commitment to contributing to society. I hold the firm belief that the arts share a common goal: advancing our society. As an educator, I take pride not only in contributing to the world of music but also in nurturing talented pianists who will become the next generation of artists and educators.

What does music mean to you?

Hobbies/interests outside of music:
I enjoy watercolor painting. I firmly believe in the concept of "synesthesia"—I see colors blending into various effects and shapes within music. I believe that all forms of art share a common spirit

What you love about playing your instrument:
I was born into a family of passionate music lovers, and from a young age, I was immersed in the beauty of music. For me, music is like every breath I take—it nurtures me, guides me in discovering who I am, and fuels me with endless energy to move forward. The piano, in particular, is an instrument capable of producing an infinite range of sounds. It can be a solo voice or an entire orchestra. With this instrument, the world of imagination is filled with fascinating possibilities, inspiring me to explore more deeply.

What music means to you:

As a pianist who has had the privilege of studying, living, and performing across three continents—Asia, Europe, and North America—I view the gift of being a musician as an opportunity to travel and witness the world’s beauty. Outside the piano room, I love to travel. My journeys have taken me along the Aegean Sea in Santorini, reading under apricot trees in the South of France, biking beside the Huangpu River in Shanghai, and motorcycling through the forests of Alaska, among others. These experiences have enriched my imagination and broadened my understanding of diverse cultures and the world's beauty.
