Nichols Concert Hall Ticketing Policy and Reservations
New this season!
The Music Institute is pleased to welcomes five resident ensembles (Apollo's Fire, Chicago a capella, Civitas Ensemble, the Orion Ensemble, and Rembrandt Chamber Players) to Nichols Concert Hall for the 2024-2025 season.
This new partnership includes a range of public performances showcasing the breadth and depth of great music-making in Chicago and compliments the Music Institute's "Nichols Concert Hall Presents" series as well a robust calendar of Music Institute of Chicago faculty and student performances and other special events. In addition, resident ensembles will expand enrichment opportunities available to Music Institute of Chicago students through master classes and other educational offerings.

How to request free tickets for Nichols Concert Hall Resident Ensemble performances

a complimentary ticket for themselves plus one guest.- If you have more than 1 student enrolled at MIC, you will need to make separate orders for each registered student.

- If additional tickets are needed, they can be purchased separately.

All seating is General Admission. Official tickets will be issued by the participating organization via EMAIL or held at BOX OFFICE before the performance.

Ticket registration opens 1 month prior to the scheduled event and closes 48 hours before the event. Each event is FREE, with a suggested donation of $10. (You can add any dollar amount to your ticket when you select your ticket quantity, including $0.00, but you'll need to enter something in that field to continue).
Please Note:
Only register for an event if you are able to attend. Attendance will be checked after the event. Those with more than 2 missed performance reservations will be be unable to request free tickets to future events.

THE "DUKE IT OUT" NUTCRACKER
Saturday, December 7 at 11 AM
This unique Nutcracker performance pits the classical (Tchaikovsky) and jazz (Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn) versions of the holiday favorite in a spectacular side-by-side showdown. Curated by Dance Chicago, the program features members of Braeburn Brass and Music Institute of Chicago Ensemble-in Residence, Quintet Attacca.
Instrument Petting Zoo at 10 AM | Nichols Concert Hall Lobby
Music Institute of Chicago's faculty presents an interactive musical instrument petting zoo, when children ages 3 and older have a chance to try a range of instruments featured in the Tchaikovsky Nutcracker score.
MIC students may reserve up to 3 complimentary tickets for this performance.
