2015 MYA Discover National Chamber Music Competition

Congratulations to Quartet Ètoile, winners of the 2015 MYA Discover National Chamber Music Competition Open Division Overall Winner and Strings and Piano Category Winner.

The Ètoile Academy ensemble is comprised of Gallia Kastner and Serena Harnack, violins, Freya Irani, viola, and Alexandra Kim, cello. The group is coached by Roland Vamos.

Kudos to the Atara String Quartet (Hannah White, Karisa Chiu, Tess Krope, and Krystian Chiu), coached by Mathias Tacke, and Fortis Piano Quartet (Kitsho Hosotani, Joshua Brown, Nathan Mo, and Daniel Szefer), coached by Tatyana Stepanova and Rodolfo Vieira, for receiving Strings and Piano Honorable Mention.

The Midwest Young Artists 8th Annual Discover National Chamber Music Competition was held at Ravinia Festival's Bennett Gordon Hall. The annual competition is designed to provide an educational as well as a competitive experience for young chamber ensembles.

Overall Winners
• Overall Winning Ensembles will perform on a Winners Recital in April.
• The Overall Winning Ensembles will each receive a Cash Award of $1,000.

In 2014, the MYA Discover Overall Division Winner and Strings Category Winner went to the Academy’s VOX String Quartet - Hansuh Rhee, violin; Serena Harnack, violin; Nathan Mo, cello; Mira Williams, viola.
