Academy at Lake Forest Symphony Music in the Garden

On Sunday, June 21, the Lake Forest Symphony (LFS) presented the annual Music in the Garden hosted by Craig Bergmann and Paul Klug at The Gardens at 900. Guests savored hors d’oeuvres and strolled the magnificent gardens of the beautiful David Adler home built for A. Watson and Elsa Armour.
Performances will include appearances by newly appointed Lake Forest Symphony Concertmaster Netanel Draiblate and talented young musicians from the Music Institute of Chicago Academy.
Academy students have previously performed for the LFS event at the home of journalist and documentarian Bill Kurtis and Director of After School Matters, Inc., Donna LaPietra and the estate of Lake Forest gardening master Kennetha “Posy” Krehbiel and John H. Krehbiel, Jr.
This year's performers included:
Gallia Kastner, violin
The Atara String Quartet
Karisa Chiu and Hannah White, violins;
Tess Krope, viola and Krystian Chiu, cello
Isabella Brown, violin
Joshua Brown, violin
Nicholas Brown, violin
The violinists study with Academy faculty member Almita Vamos and Hannah White also studies with Hye-Sun Lee. Cellist Krystian Chiu studies with Hans Jorgen Jensen and violist Tess Krope studies with Li-Kuo Chang.
This fall, Gallia will be attending the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles and Krystian will be attending the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.
