Generations Team to Tackle Music of Weber

At the Chicago Duo Piano Festival, dozens of pianists of all ages performed the complete duo piano repertoire of Carl Maria von Weber. The performers were students, faculty and guests of the Music Institute of Chicago.  One guest was the distunguished pianist and scholar Joseph Smith, who began the event with a highly illuminating lecture on Weber's historical, cultural and pianistic context. The performers and the audience came away with a rich understanding of Weber's influential approach to the keyboard.
