This Holiday Season, Give the Gift of Music!

The Music Institute of Chicago believes few things can touch lives and bring comfort and joy the way music can. This holiday season, begin your musical journey, or purchase a gift certificate and bring music into the life of someone you love. Study at one of our area campuses, or online, or reserve practice space or recording time at beautiful and historic Nichols Concert Hall.

Holiday Gift Certificates are available (min purchase $30) through Monday, December 23 at noon (for a guaranteed e-certificate delivery before December 25).

Certificates are available for purchase online and will be delivered by e-mail.
Note: holiday gift certificates must be redeemed by August 31, 2025.

Early childhood music and movement classes use favorite songs, stories and dances as learning tools in nurturing the developmental needs of children as they grow.

Private Instruction

Begin any time!
There is no better place for private instruction than the Music Institute of Chicago!  Through the Music Institute’s customized approach, students of all ages and levels are expertly matched with teachers who are best suited to their learning style. If you’re new to at-home learning, MIC will make certain you’re set up for success. Our outstanding teachers work with students of all ages and every level of experience. The Music Institute offers instruction in: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, harp, organ, harpsichord, conducting, piano, guitar, voice and composition.

Spring semester begins Monday, January 27, 2025.

 CHAMBER MUSIC

MIC's Chamber Music program provides both a nurturing and challenging environment for students ages 8+ and adults at an intermediate or advanced level. Playing in a chamber music group is a great way to make new friends and collaborate with other musicians in a small group setting. Explore the rich and varied chamber music repertoire through weekly coachings and enjoy regular performance opportunities in informal settings and through community outreach, recitals at beautiful Nichols Concert Hall in downtown Evanston twice a year, and chamber music master classes are hosted by MIC for participants.

Explore the world of jazz through private instruction, improvisation classes, and combos!

The Music Institute offers a variety of adult ensembles including MIC Concert Band, the Music Institute Chorale, and Adult Music Listening classes.
