Illinois Music Education Association Composition Contest

Congratulations to Liam Diethrich, 13, violin student of Sonia Hadar, for his composition wins as part of the Illinois Music Education Association Composition Contest. He won first place in the middle school instrumental ensemble category for his Piano Quintet No. 1 and won second place in the middle school computer based category for his piece Action Spy Mix.
The Illinois Music Education Association exists to advocate for universal access to comprehensive music education; deliver exemplary professional development for educators; and provide outstanding musical experiences for all Illinois learners facilitated by licensed music educators.
In addition, his Piano Quintet No. 1 won the Midwest Young Artists 2015 Composition Competition for Chamber Music and was performed at Gordon Bennett Hall on November 22, 2015 as part of the Midwest Young Artists' Early and New Music Concert.
