In June, Yo-Yo Ma's Citizen Musician Fellows led a group of public master classes with MIC chamber music groups followed by a shared meal with Fellows, free chamber music concert, and post-concert conversation on" Sticking with music through busy, sometimes stressful high school years."
Associate Director of the Negaunee Music Institute Program at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the 2014-2015 Fellows, Jonathan McCormick, had the opportunity to observe two MIC chamber groups and said afterwards, "It was very inspiring to learn about all that you are doing with the MIC chamber music program; and then to see that work in action was a gift."
On Saturday, February 21, the partnership continues with another master class, performance and reception. Selected MIC chamber groups will work with the Civic Fellows after which everyone will enjoy a short performance and reception. The event is free and open to public and all are invited to attend!
