MIC Faculty perform at Chicago's City Winery
April 12th, 2016
Music Institute of Chicago faculty Erica Anderson, Barbara Drapcho, Jeremiah Frederick and MIC Ensemble in Residence Quintet Attacca perform at Chicago's City Winery on Sunday, April 17. The program - "Set the Score: a modern retelling of Hansel and Gretel set to music you choose."
Jennifer Clippert, Flute | Erica Anderson, Oboe | Barbara Drapcho, Clarinet
Collin Anderson, Bassoon | Jeremiah Frederick, Horn
With musical excerpts range from John Harbison’s dramatic Quintet for Winds to Carl Schimmel’s spooky "Towns of Wind and Wood" to Julius Fučík‘s downright ridiculous "Entry of the Gladiators," it’s sure to be an exciting musical ride. Using elements of storytelling and colorful musical examples the quintet will show that the audience has the power to “Set the Score!”
Doors open at 11 am and brunch will be available for purchase before and during the performance. Casual attire is encouraged.
