MIC Student named 2018-2019 Fulbright-Schuman Grantee

Congratulations to Music Institute of Chicago violinist Lucy Little!

Little, a student of MIC violin faculty member Addison Teng, is a 2018-2019 Fulbright-Schuman grantee to the European Union, where she will be based in Amsterdam at the international non-profit Musicians Without Borders and conducting research in the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. Her research will look at how musicians are utilizing music as a tool to support refugees resettling in Europe, and generally if and how the arts are being used to promote social inclusion. Lucy is a graduate of the University of Chicago (AB’2012) and has lived in Chicago for the past six years working in social and public service and as a professional musician.

Lucy has been a student at the Music Institute of Chicago since 2015. After returning from her year abroad, Lucy will pursue her masters degree in contemporary performance and improvisation at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
