Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony Concerto Competition

Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony Concerto Competition

January 9, 2016

Tabby Rhee, 18, violin student of Hye-Sun Lee, was named winner of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony (MYSO) Concerto Competition. Tabby will be playing the first movement of the Sibelius Violin Concerto on May 8th at the Marcus Center. The competition affords students the opportunity to prepare a movement of a concerto and to perform it with an accompanist in competition with their peers. The winner of the Senior Symphony Concerto Competition also receives the Carrie Rondeau Memorial Concerto Scholarship.

MYSO’s flagship ensemble, this 125-member symphony orchestra of advanced musicians presents a variety of major concerts each season, including performances by renowned soloists, and has previously performed choral works.
