Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition

Congratulations to violinist Karisa Chiu, 16, Academy student of Almita Vamos who was named winner of the 2016 Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition. Karisa will join the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, February 27, to perform the Violin Concerto in D, Op. 47, by Jean Sibelius.   

Cellist Ayoun Kim, 17, Academy student of Hans Jorgen Jensen, was named runner up.  The competition was held at the Northern Illinois University Boutell Memorial Concert Hall on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
