New Tuition Payment Policy
July 11th, 2014
Effective July 16, 2014, the Music Institute of Chicago will change the way it accepts payment for its services. The new policy will provide customers with increased flexibility and security in making tuition payments. Moreover, in order to reduce institutional costs and allow more resources to be dedicated to music and teaching (MIC sends more than $100,000 each year to credit card companies), all tuition-related payments made by credit card will be assessed a 2.75% processing fee.
Two Electronic Payment Methods Accepted
1. Credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) are assessed a processing fee of 2.75% on tuition-related payments. Credit cards may be used at www.musicinst.org/pay-bill, campus swipe terminals and by phone at 847.905.1500.
2. Debit cards, a new option, may be used at campus swipe terminals. Debit cards are not assessed a processing fee.
In addition, each campus will feature credit card swipe terminals in order to provide a more secure and user-friendly system for our customers who prefer to use credit or debit cards. The Music Institute of Chicago will not store personal credit card information beyond what is necessary to process each transaction.
Customers may also make payments with personal checks and cash. Checks may be submitted to receptionists at each campus or mailed.
Checks should be made out to Music Institute of Chicago:
