Young Artist Concerto Competition Finalists

The preliminary round of the MIC Young Artist Concert & Aria Competition took place on Sunday, January 18 in Thoresen Performance Center at the MIC Winnetka Campus and included 12 contestants. The competition, open to MIC students only, offers young musicians the opportunity to be a featured soloist with the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Maestro Alan Heatherington. Thank you to all those who participated.

Alexandra Kim, age 16 | Academy cello student of Hans Jorgen Jensen

Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, Shostakovich
Additionally, the adjudicators awarded Honorable Mention to Karisa Chiu and Serena Harnack.
The finals, free and open to the public take place:

The winner will perform with the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra on the RISING STAR concert under the baton of Maestro Alan Heatherington, April 12, 2015 at 3 pm, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Skokie, IL.
