Academy and Community Music School on the Road to Fischoff 2025!

The Music Institute of Chicago is proudly sending off groups from the Academy and the Community Music School to the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition Quarterfinals!
The Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, has grown to become the largest chamber music competition in the world, and one of the most prestigious classical music prizes attainable today.
Each year piano trios, string trios, and string quartets record auditions in February to enter the video round of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Then, the ensembles wait until mid-March to find out if their group will advance to the live Quarterfinal round in South Bend, IN, in May.

MIC is proud to congratulate the following Junior Division ensembles:
• Caspian Quartet coached by Rodolfo Vieira with Lily Sullivan and Tristan Zhu, violins, Vivian Van de Sype-Cucu, violin, Jan Vargas Nedvetsky, cello
• Hemingway Quartet coached by Paul Zafer with Elle Cho, Sebastian Manning and Romeo Vashishth, violins/viola, Lucy Wu, cello
• Vermillion Quartet coached by Sang Mee Lee with Emily Chen and Magdalena Masur, violins, Brayden Wu, viola, Gabi Raviv, cello
• Luscinia Trio(alternate) coached by Stefan Kartman with Lauren Kim and Matthew Kim, violin/viola and Katarina Kenney, cello
• Minela Piano Trio coached by Marta Aznavoorian and Sanghui Wimbiscus with Neil Eisfeldt, violin, Ella Wimbiscus, cello and Micah Chan, piano
Stay tuned as the groups proceed to South Bend for the live quarterfinal round on Friday, May 9, semifinal round Saturday, May 10, and medal round, Sunday, May, May 11.
