The Walgreens National Concerto Competition was held on December 27-29, 2021 in Ravinia's Bennett Gordon Hall and at the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory (MYAC) Center. The Walgreens Corporation’s annual sponsorship enables MYAC to provide an outstanding panel of judges, written performance evaluations, and a performance goal for students to work towards over the winter holiday breaks. Over 200 students compete in the annual competition at the end of December.
There are two divisions in the competition: Midwest Young Artists Conservatory (MYAC) Orchestra Division and the Open Division in which MIC students participate.
Academy student Katya Moeller, Open Division Overall winner, and MYAC Orchestra Division Overall Senior Level winner will perform with the MYAC Symphony Orchestra on a concert sometime before the end of the season. Winners also receive cash prizes.
